These training courses are about making a positive impact on others, and creating postive influence.

We all make an impression on everyone we are in contact with: face to face, on the phone, on paper. If we leave that to chance, it could be the wrong impression, or a negative influence. These training courses will help you create a positive first impression, and powerful and positive influence.

Influencing Skills Workshop Activities

The first, and shortest of these three courses deals with creating a positive first impression, and outlining the three key factors of the influence triangle'; the half-day then looks in detail at these three factors, and the associated skills and attributes; and the full day builds on all of this by providing the opportunity to develop and embed these skills and attributes.

Never 'death by powerpoint'

We always provide a variety of learning approaches in each of our workshops.

Each workshop typically includes learning input from the trainer, supported by a range of mixed media, interactive elements, discussion and group work. Most workshops also include case work and practical skill-development activities to apply the learning, with more time dedicated to this in the longer courses.

'Want more?' resource pack

In addition to providing a copy of any slide deck, we always provide a ‘want more’ section, of curated resources including book summaries, podcasts, downloads and articles.

Influencing Skills Training Frequently Asked Quesitons

Don't some people have more natural influencing attributes than others?

Yes - but everyone has the opportunity and potential to develop them further, especially if not born with positive influencing gifts...

How can you tell how influential you are?

Ultimately by the the response of those you are working with - either short term, by the rapport you have and the attention you are paid; and longer term by the take up of your ideas...

Does learning to be influential risk a loss of authenticity?

This is an important question. You are going to influence others, whatever you do - so most people want to manage their behaviours so that they have a positive impact. So everyone should choose their own personal style or 'brand' of influence - and how authentic that is is part of that personal choice.

Which of these courses should I take?

The 90-minute course provides an overview of the major factors affecting influence, and spends time on creating a positive first impression; the half day course builds on this by examining credibility, likeability and affinity in some detail, and the full day provides the opportunity to create positive influence through an extended case study.
