why coaching?

Coaching is widely regarded as the most effective way of developing individuals, since it is tailored to their needs, timing, and their learning preferences

Coaching done on a wider scale brings about a change in the way people work and relate together; it creates a coaching framework, and a coaching culture: a greater good

how does it work?

Each individual involved has three two-hour coaching sessions. They are run by an independent and qualified coach, working on issues chosen by the individual, and are completely confidential

what are the benefits?

Improved competence. Improved confidence – and as a result – Improved organisational effectiveness and morale.

Effective was employed by a prestigious national car company to provide coaching support for two cohorts of staff about to be assessed for their next level of promotion. Each individual had three 1-1 sessions, and the results were dramatic: staff felt significantly more confident, and the proportion who passed their assessment was higher in both cohorts than was the case for the previous 3 cohorts who hadn't been coached.

Iris casually mentioned that she was unable to drive over a bridge or through a tunnel – even on a motorway, and as a result took 50 minutes to visit her mum, who lived one junction down on the motorway, 10 minutes away. After two sessions, she was able to drive confidently through tunnels, over bridges and on motorways, and as a result, was able to spend more time with her mum…and of course was happier in herself, at achieving something she had always thought would be impossible…
